ArmInfo. On October 4, President Armen Sargsyan signed a decree appointing the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Tigran Balayan the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the Netherlands (residence in The Hague).
According to the information of the RA President's staff, the decree on recalling Garegin Melkonyan from the post of ambassador was signed by Armen Sargsyan on the same day a little earlier. By presidential decree, Balayan was also appointed to the post of Permanent Representative of Armenia in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
Recall that by decree of ex-president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan dated March 2, 2018, Garegin Melkonyan was relieved of his post as first deputy minister of economic development and investments and was appointed by the other decree the ambassador of Armenia to the Netherlands.
On his Facebook page, Balayan thanked all the journalists with whom he had worked for many years. He expressed his gratitude to diplomats from whom he learned the skills and knowledge of diplomatic work.
