ArmInfo. The "Orinats Yerkir" party once again confirms its position on the need for holding early parliamentary elections in Armenia. This is stated in the statement of the party in connection with the current political situation in the country.
"We urge them to refrain from any actions that may lead to destabilization of the situation and be guided by the governmental program approved in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, one of the points of which is to hold early parliamentary elections," the party's statement said.
To recall, yesterday the country's parliament "on the quiet", behind closed doors with microphones and the electronic voting system turned off, adopted scandalous amendments to the law on "Regulations of the National Assembly," with 67 votes for. The bill seriously complicates the possibility of parliament dissolution. Moreover the parties that have their representatives in the government of the country also voted for the adoption of the document. As a result, at the call of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a rally of thousands of people was held the night before, at which the resignation of ministers and governors from the Prosperous Armenia and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties was announced. Also, the head of the Armenian government announced his soon resignation.
