ArmInfo. For Armenia, the issues related to the situation in Syria are extremely important. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told a press conference in Yerevan on September 11.
At the same time, he stressed that this is caused not only by regional processes, but also by the threat that hangs over Syrian Armenians. Mnatsakanyan recalled that the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo did not cease its activities during the whole crisis in Syria and tried to render all possible assistance to compatriots who found themselves in a difficult situation. "It is not for the first time, Armenia has been rendering humanitarian assistance to our Syrian brothers, we have already sent several humanitarian supplies with the assistance of the Russian side, and we will continue to render assistance to Syria exclusively in the humanitarian aspect," Mnatsakanyan summed up.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia and Russia will soon implement a joint humanitarian program in Syria.
He added that this would be a fully humanitarian program that would not include any military component. Later it became known about the sending of Armenian sappers and military doctors to Syria to participate in a joint humanitarian operation with Russia.
