
ArmInfo. In Moscow, inter-ministerial consultations of the CIS member states took place on the agenda of the upcoming 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
According to the source, representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee took part in the consultations. The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic participated as observers. The participants of the consultations noted the importance of close interaction of the Commonwealth member states "on the UN platform" and paid special attention to the topic of the forthcoming session of the General Assembly of the Organization. The issues of joint work of delegations of the CIS member states to the UN, their priorities at the 73rd session of the General Assembly, implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period until 2030 and elections to UN bodies were discussed.
During the consultations, the draft resolution of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly on cooperation between the UN and the CIS, prepared by the Republic of Tajikistan, was considered. The participants agreed to continue work on the document.
The participants of the consultations noted the usefulness of the exchange of views and decided to continue regular consultations of the CIS member states on the issues on the UN agenda on a bilateral and multilateral basis, including among the delegations of the CIS member states during the 73rd session of the General Assembly.
