ArmInfo. The Armenian government does not have sufficient grounds for creating a system of transitional justice, Samvel Farmanyan, an MP from the Republican faction, told a news conference on September 6.
The MP noted that it would be possible to express their position on transitional justice only after the executive authorities had submitted the necessary grounds for the introduction of this system.
As for the constitutional amendments announced by Pashinyan, which envisage the self-dissolution of the parliament, Farmanyan said that, in any developments of the situation, the government should prioritize state interests. "I do not see any reason to take such a decision," the MP said.
To note, on September 2, during his video address, Pashinyan said that the government is developing a draft of constitutional reforms on the self-dissolution of the parliament. According to him, the parliamentary elections should be held no later than early June 2019.
In response, the Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly, RPA deputy chairman Armen Ashotyan wrote that if Pashinyan wants to occupy the post of prime minister for a long time, he should do his direct duties, that is, the development of the state's economy.
