ArmInfo. Armenia must take active measures to combat entrenched corruption and large-scale conflict of interests. This is stated in the report of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and evelopment (OECD).
At the same time, the document notes that over the past four years Armenia continues to reform anti- corruption legislation and institutions. The report welcomes the introduction of e-government, a system for publishing and verifying asset declarations and expanding e-procurement. At the same time, the authors of the report express concern about the low level of implementation of these laws, as well as the monopolization of the economy. They also stress the need to ensure the independence of the judiciary and the prosecutor's office, suggest that efforts to identify corrupt crimes should be intensified.
In this regard, it is proposed to ensure transparent and objective selection of the members of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. According to the report, the republic should also implement norms of corporate responsibility for corruption crimes, increase transparency and strengthen control over public procurement.
