ArmInfo. The Head of the State Control Service of Armenia David Sanasaryan admitted at today's press conference that the ministry which he heads has nothing to do at the Ministry of Defense, since the Ministry itself initiates inspections in the structure and sends the identified offenses to the authorised bodies.
"We have nothing to do there at the moment, we discussed this issue with the Prime Minister and decided to postpone the checks for a while," the head of the State Control Service said. To note earlier Sanasaryan threatened to begin his work with inspections in the Ministry of Defense and with the revelation of multi- million dollar embezzlement.
At the same time, Sansaryan assured that after initiating inspections by the Service in a number of SNCO and state stuctures, many of them voluntarily agreed to return the spent funds to the state budget. In particular, according to the results of inspections, Lusashen SNCO will return 210 million drams to the budget, and Rodina-Diapora SNCO - 100 million drams.
He also said that inspections are being conducted at the National Agrarian and Yerevan State Universities. According to him, particularly large abuses have already been revealed at the Agrarian University. At the same time, Sanasaryan did not specify the amount of theft.
Sanasaryan also reported on coordinated abuses in the Public Television of Armenia and Ministry of Diaspora. Thus, during the inspections it was established that the Ministry of Diaspora allocated 75 million drams to the Public Television to make the film. "However, later we found out that this film was shot by means of Public Television. The investigation will reveal where the funds allocated by the Ministry of Diaspora are," said Sansaryan.
The most serious result of the activity of the Service headed by him, Sanasaryan called the fact that as a result of the checks, Armenia's High Voltage Electric Networks will return 140 million drams to the state budget.
At the same time, he noted that the new government does not have the goal of filling the prisons with corrupt officials, if the damage to the state is compensated, then forgiving approach will be applied to corrupt officials.
