ArmInfo. The impact of US sanctions against Russia on the economy of Armenia has not been studied yet, however it is obvious, that they will have an impact, RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Artsvik Minasyan expressed this opinion in the conversation with journalists.
"So far, the ministry I head does not have a full-fledged view of this," the minister said, without explaining when the specialists of the relevant structures will have an idea of the forthcoming economic processes in the republic.
At the same time, he noted that the impact of US sanctions on the economy of the republic can be not only negative, but also to a certain extent positive from the point of view of creating new opportunities without explaining which ones.
Touching upon Armenian-US economic relations Minasyan assured that they have risen to a qualitatively new level. According to him the Armenian government is currently taking efforts aimed at attracting new US investments in the country. He informed that currently investment projects amounting to $1 bln are being discussed, out of which programs amounting $240 mln are more feasible, these programs will be implemented in the near future. Some projects in the field of high technologies, agriculture, tourism are already being implemented, the Minster informed. According to him the USA is also interested in implementation of programs in the fields of healthcare and education.
