ArmInfo. The meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan is planned in the near future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated speaking before the first year students of Moscow State University of Foreign Affairs, RIA Novosti reports. "In the near future, another meeting between President Putin and Prime Minister Pashinyan is planned, and I think it will be important for us to learn how the new leader of Armenia assesses the prospects for the development of the situation in his country. Of course, we are rather concerned about Armenia's obligations to the Collective Security Treaty Organization in this situation, we proceed from the fact that these commitments are in force, they must be fully implemented, including in relation to strengthening the reputation and prestige of our common organization, "the Minister said.
Previously, Lavrov, commenting on the case on the dispersal of protest actions on March 1, 2008, said that the events in Armenia are contrary to the statements of the new leadership of the country about the refusal to pursue political predecessors. According to him, Moscow, as an ally of Yerevan, has always been interested in Armenia's stability, and therefore what is happening there can not but concern, including from the point of view of the tasks of normal functioning of those organizations in the CIS space in which Armenia participates. Pashinyan, commenting on Lavrov's words, said that Russian counterparts should adapt to the new situation developed in Armenia.
