ArmInfo. Germany was following the developments in Armenia related to the peaceful change of power, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Armenia on August 24. "Yerevan is 2800 years old, Armenia is a country with a rich culture and history, but it is also open to a new future," Merkel said.
According to her, she is happy to be in Armenia during the period of democratic reforms. Today, as the Chancellor pointed out, the Armenian-German relations are at a high level and still have growth potential in the fields of economy, education, IT and science. As Merkel said, she arrived in Armenia accompanied by the delegation of the economic bloc. It is expected that they will discuss prospects for the development of bilateral economic ties between Armenia and Germany.
Angela Merkel also expressed satisfaction with the signing of the framework agreement between Armenia and the EU. Germany, as she noted, in turn, will do everything possible to contribute to its implementation.
