ArmInfo. The US government has long wanted to see a full and comprehensive investigation into the tragic events that occurred in Armenia on March 1, 2008, US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Richard Mills told reporters.
Up to this day, as the Ambassador noted, it was required to ensure transparency in the investigation and justice for the victims of the March events. He stressed the importance of ensuring the rule of law and the law of the RA in relation to those involved or suspected of March events.
Asked whether he considers Robert Kocharyan's release reasonable, Mills noted that such a decision is not within the competence of the US government. This issue should be decided by the judicial authority of Armenia. And we, for our part, will continue to closely monitor the development of the processes in the judicial system of Armenia, "he stressed.
