The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia, the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, as well as the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Rostov-on-Don are in constant contact with local authorities in connection with traffic congestion at the Upper Lars checkpoints, acting spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan stated on August 14 during a briefing.
"Moreover, all measures are being taken to quickly solve the problems that arise." According to the latest information, there are 300 vehicles registered from the Georgian side at the Upper Lars checkpoint, the length of the line is about 2.5 km, on the Russian side - about 3 km ", - noted Naghdalyan.
To note, for more than a week there are multi-kilometer traffic jams at the "Upper Lars" checkpoint. Citizens are forced to stand in lines for several hours.
