ArmInfo. Massed rumors in the media that Russia can stop the supply of arms to Armenia within the framework of a 100-million loan agreement are incorrect. This was in conversation with journalists in Armenian Dilijan, said Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Colonel- General Alexander Fomin.
"These are incorrect information, I do not confirm them," he said, referring to media reports that the withdrawal of the CSTO Secretary-General Yuri Khachaturov and his criminal prosecution in Armenia led to problems in the Armenian-Russian relations, which may result in termination of Russian supplies arms of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of a one-hundred-million-strong military loan.
Moreover, he stressed, the Russian side is discussing current issues of military and military-technical cooperation with the leadership of the Defense Ministry of Armenia. "We have a solid legal and regulatory framework - over 60 treaties and agreements, not every country can boast such a legacy," Fomin added.
He recalled that Russia and Armenia have a United Air Defense System and a United Group of Forces. These structures are improved and strengthened in every possible way. The General is convinced that the achieved level of interaction between the countries ensures the solution of any current tasks and an adequate response to the changing situation.
