Employees of Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia  misappropriated 43 million drams abusing their office

ArmInfo. Employees of territorial offices of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia as a result of abuse of office misappropriated 43 million drams, the RA Police press office reported.

According to the information, data on various abuses by employees and  officials of the territorial agencies of the Ministry of Labor and  Social Affairs of the RA were received by the Main Department for  Combating Organized Crime of the Armenian Police.

As a result of undertaken operational intelligence activities on July  25-27 and following the results of cooperation with territorial  divisions of 8 regions, 166 corruption crimes were revealed conducted  by 87 employees of territorial agencies of the ministry of labor.

"In particular, in order to include 175 citizens in the list of  beneficiaries, the inspectors and heads of the Agency unlawfully  demanded and received 34 million 777 thousand drams as a" bribe ","  the report reads.

In addition, the facts of embezzlement or appropriation of funds by  the Agency's employees by falsifying documents in the amount of more  than 8 million drams were disclosed.

Part of the materials was sent to the Investigative Committee for the  implementation of the preliminary investigation. Activities continue.
