ArmInfo. The tax legislation of Armenia is not very focused on the development of certain sectors of the economy. This was stated in a conversation with journalists by the head of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan on July 26 after the meeting of the government.
According to David Ananyan, he, as head of the Committee responsible for tax administration and collection of tax revenues of the budget, has no right to assess how "passable" the tax burden for SMEs is. "Perhaps for representatives of SMEs, from the point of view of doing business, the current tax burden is not very tolerant, but for me it is tolerable, since I am tasked with ensuring the tax revenues of the state treasury," he explained. At this stage, as Ananyan assured, SRC does not implement strict measures of tax administration for small and medium-sized businesses. At the same time, as he pointed out, all those who believe that they have a different policy that contradicts this position, inform the SRC about this.
According to Ananyan, every appeal of entrepreneurs will be considered individually. Nevertheless, as the head of the tax authority pointed out, he is not afraid of the riot of SME representatives. "We have no right to be guided by riots, we must follow the letter of the law. If we believe that the legislation is" bad, "then we should reconsider it," he said.
In September of this year, as David Ananyan reminded, the government plans to start the process of reforming the tax legislation and apply to the parliament with the appropriate package of legislative changes. Until the new package is prepared, and it does not become a reality, the State Revenue Committee, as the body conducting tax administration, is obliged to follow and act within the framework of the current legislation. "If this fact does not appeal to taxpayers, excuse us, but we can not be guided by the categories" like - dislike", he stressed.
On the eve, the SRC, responding to complaints from taxpayers, issued a statement stating that the tax and customs department, if possible, refrained from implementing control measures or applying other administrative measures to small and medium-sized businesses. According to the information, in order to implement effective and targeted tax administration, tax inspections are carried out by large taxpayers who were deemed to be risky by the relevant system. "Nevertheless, if the taxpayers have facts and information indicating that the actions of the SRC or individual employees of the agency are aimed at unreasonable interference in the activities of SMEs, or have had revenge in the past, the tax and customs department suggests informing about this as follows: Postal address, Yerevan, Komitas St. 35, 0051 or e-mail - [email protected]
A week earlier, in an interview with reporters, the head of the SRC, David Ananyan, stated that the agency had a clear instruction not to overload the small and medium business with tax administration. "If one or another member of the Committee misunderstands the instruction given to him, we should release this employee from his post." We also need to clear the field and attract new employees, "Ananyan said. Nevertheless, representatives of SMEs continue to signal an ongoing onslaught of tax authorities.
