ArmInfo. The Russian Federation has every opportunity to prevent the resumption of hostilities in the region. The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this on July 20 at a press conference in response to a comment that after the meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, they began to say that Moscow wants to revive the "Lavrov plan".
According to Pashinyan, there is always a threat of resumption of hostilities in the Aratsakh conflict zone and Armenia should be ready for such developments. But, RF, as a superpower, has the opportunity to prevent this. "I can not believe that partner Russia will not use the leverage to keep Baku from such a provocation," he said.
As Pashinyan noted, regardless of whether it is accepted in international practice or not, he is accustomed to communicate with partners on the basis of mutual trust and ensuring full transparency. It was in this context, as the prime minister recalled, that he raised the issue of clarifying mutual obligations within the CSTO framework. In the same context, he called for a discussion with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko about selling arms to Azerbaijan. "We with all partners conduct an open and honest policy, which is not affected by the relationship with other countries," he said.
