According to sources in the Federation, the Ministry of Sport and  Youth Affairs, which de facto operates under the patronage of the  head of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, the leader of the  Tsarukyan bloc, deputy businessman Gagik Tsarukyan and directly the  NOC, under the instruction of the same Tsarukyan, exert pressure on  boxers and coaches, forcing them to sign a statement of refusal to  participate in the meeting of the Federation, scheduled for July 5. 

"We are being pressured by a variety of methods, demanding that we  sign a statement on the postponement of the day of the Federation  meeting at which the election of its head will take place," the  athletes said, explaining this by Tsarukyan's desire to nominate his  candidate for this post. According to the source, initially this  candidate was the criminal authority of Don Pipo (Arthur Asatryan),  but after his arrest Tsarukyan's cards mingled, and now he needs time  to find a new candidate, which is why the NOC is trying to postpone  the election of the head of the Federation. To date, the only  candidate for this post is the current head of the Federation, MP  Arthur Gevorgyan, who, however, acts de facto independently, not  under the patronage of Tsarukyan. Meanwhile, on the eve of the  parliamentary elections, having lost the opportunity to engage in  charity after the adoption of the relevant law on the initiative of  the government, Tsarukyan tries to enlist the votes and support of  the entire sports world of Armenia. And for today there are only two  federations, which de facto do not obey him - the Federation of  Football and Boxing.

To note, a day earlier, when the issue was discussed in the Olimpavan  complex owned by Tsarukyan, an incident occurred. The verbal skirmish  between Tsarukyan and the father of the world-boxing champion Nikolay  Arutyunov Vyacheslav Arutyunov, who dared to defend the current head  of the Federation, turned into a melee. Originally Tsarukyan himself  beaten up Arutyunov-senior, then his guards. This is evidenced by the  initial indication of a man who was seriously injured in a hospital.  On the basis of these indications, the head of Tsarukyan's security,  Edo Babayan, scandalously known, was detained, the secretary of the  National Olympic Committee, Emergencies Minister Hrachya Rostomyan  was summoned for questioning.  Subsequently, the Special  Investigative Service issued a statement that Tsarukyan himself  appears in the victim's testimony on the fact of his beating, but so  far no investigative measures have been taken against him.

In the afternoon, the victim for "unknown" reasons reversed his  testimony to the contrary, saying that he and Tsarukyan had warm,  friendly relations, and that no one beat him, he just slipped on the  wet floor, fell and was injured, just like in the film "The Diamond  Arm": slipped, fell, lost the creature, woke up - plaster.  Just  unlike the film, the victim received no closure, and multiple open  fractures.
