ArmInfo. The military-industrial complex of Armenia must be separated from the Ministry of Defense, and issues related to the military-industrial complex should be resolved within the framework of a separate agency. Karen Vardanyan, executive director of the Union of Advanced Technology Companies (UATC), expressed opinion.
In this regard, he referred to Azerbaijan, where the military-industrial complex has long been overseen by a separate agency. "This is extremely necessary. Considering that personnel changes were made yesterday in the Military Industrial Committee, we hope that the new government will consider this issue," the expert said.
He added that in the technological age, when weapons with high scientific potential are used, only boldness will not be enough. "When enemy conduct high-tech attacks, an encouragement cant help soldiers in the trenches. A proper defense is necessary. In this matter, it is unacceptable to lag behind, but it is necessary to move forward," Vardanyan said.
By decision of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, on June 27, Avetik Kerobyan was appointed chairman of the Military-Industrial Committee of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
