ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan during the meeting with the Chairman of the Bundestag Wolfgang Schaeuble told about the latest political processes that took place in the republic. Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo about this.
The head of the Armenian foreign ministry confirmed the commitment of the new government of Armenia to fulfill the mandate given by the people through reforms to further strengthen democratic processes, ensure the rule of law, protect fundamental human rights and freedoms, justice, and continue to fight corruption unswervingly.
In his turn, the Chairman of the Bundestag welcomed the peaceful nature of the changes that took place in Armenia within the framework of the Constitution and the law.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the level of interparliamentary cooperation, touched upon Armenia- EU cooperation. In this context, Mnatsakanyan stressed the importance of an agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership, which is not only a new legal basis for relations, but also an important tool for Armenia in promoting reforms and partnership.
Mnatsakanyan spoke about Armenia's foreign policy priorities, as well as approaches to current regional and international challenges. The Minister also presented the position of the Armenian side on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, confirming the commitment exclusively to a peaceful settlement of the conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. He also noted the importance of creating an atmosphere conducive to peace.
