ArmInfo. The Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia decided to postpone the implementation of the main programs - "Come Home", "Summer School" and the festival "My Armenia".
As the head of the department Mkhitar Airapetian stated on June 5 at a meeting with journalists, he has doubts about the unjustified waste of funds allocated for these programs. According to the Minister, the first notes of concern about financial excesses in the department arose after he got acquainted with the expenses and tenders conducted through the SNCO Center "Armenia- Diaspora". For example, according to Hayrapetyan, every lunch of the participant of the program "Come Home" cost 4 thousand AMD. "What did each child want to give lamb, black caviar, or what?" He asked.
In addition, according to Hayrapetyan, the programs of the Ministry of Diaspora, which are approved by the government and passed through the competition, can carry corruption risks. It turned out that tenders were mostly won by the same organizations. Their names will be published after joint studies with law enforcement agencies. Mkhitar Airapetyan also presented his concern to David Sanasaryan, the head of the State Control Service. As a result, the minister raised the issue of expediency of the implementation of these programs at this stage and decided to suspend them temporarily, and on the instructions of David Sanasaryan an audit will be conducted. In Mindiospore they will react with understanding to the discontent of those parents who already bought air tickets to Yerevan for their children (the program was due to start on June 17. Ed.). "All that we do is also directed to the fact that although they are inconvenienced today, tomorrow they will take part in our other programs proudly, with their heads held high, being sure that any penny spent by our ministry was purposeful and open I understand the hundreds of people who bought these air tickets, but our principle is to exclude corruption risks, but those programs that are temporarily postponed will be improved, "Hayrapetyan concluded.
