ArmInfo. The fourth deputy Felix Tsolakyan left the faction of the Republican Party of Armenia.
Earlier it was left by the deputies Artur Gevorgyan, Shirak Torosyan and Arman Sahakyan. Thus, 53 out of 58 MPs remained in the RPA faction. According to ArmInfo, the deputies who left the RPA ranks reached an agreement on consolidated work in the parliament.
At the same time, it is not ruled out that in the coming days the RPA will be left by several more deputies, mostly representing business circles. The sources in the business circles of the Republican Party of Armenia told ArmInfo that recently a meeting of the RPA faction was held in the Avshar wine factory belonging to the Republican MP Araik Grigoryan, at which the leader of the party Serzh Sargsyan was present. Taking into account the recent events (inspections in the enterprises of the entrepreneurs-members of the Republican Party of Armenia), Serge Sargsyan stated that those RPA members who are engaged in business are free to leave the party if they believe that such a decision will be based on their interests. After that, according to ArmInfo sources, a closed meeting of representatives of business circles, members of the Republican Party of Armenia, was held. At the meeting the only issue was discussed - the expediency of the representatives of business from the ranks of the party. Nevertheless, Republican businessmen have not reached a consensus decision, and most likely, each of them will take an autonomous decision on this issue.
As for the "ideological link" of the RPA, at the Avshar meeting, Serzh Sargsyan stated that they are also free to leave the party if they consider this decision more expedient. But in this case, they must abandon the deputy mandate. "So it will be fair," the RPA leader summed up.
Thus, it is not ruled out that, taking into account recent events, the RPA will cease to be an absolute majority, and in the parliament a new force will de facto form a force from the deputies who left the ranks, which will play according to their rules of the game depending on immediate interests.
