ArmInfo. "Lydian Armenia" company reports that an important achievement has been registered in the sphere of health and labor protection. For 2 million man-hours in the implementation of the program of development of the Amulsar deposit, not a single incident was recorded. The press service of the company reports.
It is noteworthy that this indicator was fixed in the most difficult period (in the winter) when carrying out construction work. This is an international standard that assesses the activities of companies in the field of health and safety of workers. The achieved indicator means that the employees of the company have worked 2 million hours without such incidents, as a result of which the employee could be out of work or unable to return to his duties. Industrial or construction companies, as a rule, consider it a great achievement to work without incident for 1 million man-hours. And in the construction of Amulsar, the figure of 2 million man-hours is significant even for experienced international companies.
The development program for the Amulsar deposit is in the process of implementation, about 80% of all works are completed. Work was carried out on several million cubic meters of land, concrete works - 9 thousand cubic meters, one road with a length of 20 km was built. A significant amount of work has been done in the areas of water resources management and nature protection. The fact of the absence of incidents is also remarkable by the fact that the work is carried out in difficult mountainous areas and in unfavorable weather conditions. It shows the company's readiness to strictly follow the rules of health and safety.
"For us, one of the main problems is the introduction of Lydian company among contractor organizations to provide a culture of health and safety," said Armen Stepanyan, the company's vice president for sustainable development. He added that in a number of cases of work have even been suspended, for example, in case of unsafe construction works or due to lack of appropriate protective equipment for workers. The introduction of a clear culture ensures worker safety, reduces risks and encourages employees to work safely. "Work without incident for 2 million man-hours once again shows that Lydian Armenia is ready to provide safe practice in accordance with international standards and will continue to develop a culture of security in Armenia," Armen Stepanyan said.
