ArmInfo. "Despite the fact that the final eradication of the current system in Armenia is a long and complex process, in view of the fact that a number of important factors, including the formation of an independent electoral and judicial system, a freer press and responsible government, the movement is unprecedented for the Eurasian region" , the analyst Ellen Aghekian said during the hearings, timed to the development of events in Armenia in the Helsinki Committee of the US Congress, according to the Voice of America. Aghekyan explained that after achieving unexpected successes, the protest movement faced the main problem hampering the development of democracy in Armenia, which is limited not by the rule of one person, but is a system that is overcorrelated and represented by influential oligarchs trying to retain power. At the same time, Aghekian stresses the level of development of the civil society, which in her opinion is stronger than many have imagined.
In this regard, the analyst stressed the invaluable role of the network media, social networks and youth, which contributed to the development and expansion of this movement. One of the invited to the hearing analysts became also the director of the Eurasian department of the International Republican Institute, Stefan Nix. In the course of his speech, he noted: "Regardless of what we call what is happening in Armenia today as a color revolution or simply a revolution, this movement is clearly a clear manifestation of free will and the right to choose. This is the essence of democracy. "
