ArmInfo.Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan this time again refused to negotiate with the leader of the opposition, lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan. Aram Araratyan, press secretary of Karapetyan, wrote tthis at his page in Facebook.
According to the statement shared by Araratian, the terms of the negotiations put forward by Pashinyan are practically the same as those he said about days earlier and which Karapetyan did not agree with. "Pashinyan insists on an open format of negotiations (in the presence of the media), which shows that the goal of the meeting is not to reach consensus, and this time Pashinyan insists exclusively on his agenda of negotiations, not giving a chance to the opposite side the only thing Pashinyan reconsidered in his position is that this time he does not dictate the format of the talks, and, nevertheless, Karapetyan's response to the negotiations in this perspective Karapetyan recommends Pashinyan to accept the proposal of RA President Armen Sargsyan and together with the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces to start discussions on the country's exit from the current situation, "the statement reads.
Pashinyan on the eve of the rally again invited Karapetyan to the negotiations at the Marriott hotel at 12:00 in the presence of the media. He said that the only topic of the talks is the peaceful withdrawal of the Republican Party of Armenia from power.
It should be noted that Karapetyan refused Pashinyan for the first time due to the fact that he personally single out the format and agenda of the talks. Nevertheless, Pashinyan said at the rally yesterday that I will either be Armenia's Prime Minister, or Armenia will not have a Prime Minister.
Nevertheless, as ArmInfo reported earlier, the Republican Party initially decided at the May 1 prime ministerial elections to come up with its candidate, who will be Karen Karapetyan, that is, beforehand having determined for himself the impossibility of negotiating with Pashinyan on the agenda he had put forward.
