ArmInfo.Tomorrow at 12:00 local time I invite the acting Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan to a meeting at the Marriott Armenia hotel for the continuation of the talks solely on the occasion of a peaceful transfer of power. On April 26, the leader of the "Make a step" movement Nikol Pashinyan said at a rally, reacting to Karapetyan's earlier preparedness for dialogue.
"Our previous stage of negotiations did not take place because RPA representatives stated that Karen Karapetyan does not have the authority to represent them. However, yesterday the Republican Party decided that Karen Karapetyan should represent it. Therefore, tomorrow at 12:00 I invite Karen Karapetyan to continue negotiations, on one condition, our meeting must take place in the presence of the press. We will not conduct secret negotiations with the RPA, our leader is our people and we must report to them, "Pashinyan said.
As for his further plans, the MP said that tomorrow he will hold a protest action not in Yerevan, but in Gyumri, and a day later in Vanadzor. "All our actions in Yerevan will be stopped from tomorrow, so that our activists can rest and regain their strength," Pashinyan said, suggesting that those who want to join the trip to the second city of the country.
Pashinyan also said that a new power has been established in Armenia and this is the power of the people. The deputy noted that yesterday he received information that cars without numbers were driving in Yerevan, which violated the rules of the road. "However, today, with the help of our movement's activists, we were able to solve this problem in just an hour, more there are no cars without numbers in Yerevan. Karen Karapetyan will not be able to solve this problem, but you could, "Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan also noted that yesterday at the Republic Square the people "nominated" him for the post of prime minister of the country. "Everyone should realize that my goal is not my premiership, but the destruction of the corruption system in Armenia. There can be no question of behind-the-scenes games and secret agreements, "the deputy stressed.
"We hope that all parliamentary factions will take into account the will of the people and implement it. Our victory must also be recorded de jure. Elections of the Prime Minister in the Armenian parliament will be held on May 1, so we must step up our forces, and express our will on May 1. I want that during my premiership every citizen of Armenia felt like a prime minister, "Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan also noted that he today urged citizens to open all roads from 16:00 and if at the moment there are closed roads in the city, the deputy called for them to be unlocked.
After the rally, protesters marched through the streets of Yerevan, and then returned to the Republic Square, where the concert will take place.
