ArmInfo. The United States thanks the retired Prime Minister of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan for his contribution to the development of relations between Yerevan and Washington and expect to work closely with the Government formed by his successor.
This was said to the TASS reporter on Monday by the spokesman for the State Department's press service. "We thank Prime Minister Sargsyan for his long-year service and his contribution to the strong relations between the US and Armenia," the representative of the foreign entity said. "We expect that the democratic process of determining his successor will be carried out transparently, in accordance with Armenian legislation, and we expect to work in close cooperation with the new Government. "
To remind, Sargsyan, who was elected by the parliament on the post of Prime Minister of Armenia on April 17, announced his resignation on Monday amid massive protests.
