Armen Martirosyan excluded repetition of bloody events in Armenia of  March 2008

ArmInfo. The chairman of the board of the Heritage party, Armen Martirosyan, who is in Garegin Nzhdeh square near the police station, said that three deputies of  the Armenian National Assembly were detained with all violations of the laws of the country.

"Anything related to the detention of the deputies is illegal, but in  any case, Nikol Pashinyan will be released, today our citizens demand  the exercise of their civil rights, they fight for their future." The  fight is spontaneous and just, "Martirosyan said. At the same time,  he expressed the conviction that even in case of pressure, young  people who came out to fight will win.

He also believes that the Prime Minister of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan,  who came to the meeting with MP Nikol Pashinyan actually had nothing  to say. According to him, attempts to intimidate people on March 1  are also vain. "I am convinced that on March 1 Armenia will not be  repeated for a number of reasons:  today's Armenia, this is not the  country that was in 2008, there are international organizations and  our commitments, so that forceful suppression may take place, but the  first of March will definitely not happen again" , concluded  Martirosyan.  According to the situation at 16:00 hours, the drive  was already subjected to 228 people. Another 10 people are in the  republic's hospitals.

Recall that after the presidential elections in Armenia in 2008 in  Yerevan on March 1, bloody events took place. A series of protests,  against the results of the February 19 elections, ended with clashes  with law enforcement agencies. As a result, more than 10 people died,  about 230 people were injured. These events were never fully  investigated, the perpetrators of the direct riot of the  demonstrators were never found.
