ArmInfo. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State for the Minister for European and Foreign Affairs of France, visited the French school in Yerevan on March 30.
According to the press service of the French Embassy, Lemoyne met with the students of the school and the teaching staff. The Secretary of State also took part in the opening ceremony of the board, with the school assigning a new name. Now, the school will bear the name of one of the largest French writers of the late XIX - early XX century, Anatole France. The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan and the French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacote.
The renaming of the school pays homage to the memory of the writer, Nobel laureate in literature, the founder of the League of Human Rights and the defender of the Armenian question Anatole France, who is also known for his outstanding performance at the meeting "Tribute to Respect for the Memory of Armenia" at the Sorbonne in April 1916.
