For example, Kocharyan, commenting on the journalists' request to  comment on the activity of citizens in Armenia in the presidential  elections in Russia, said: "This shows that citizens express interest  in the elections."

Meanwhile, commenting on the fact that the majority of voters,  Armenians who refused Armenian citizenship and accepted the Russian,  he said: "We need to be sensitive in such matters." At the same time,  citizens of Armenia of a different nationality are active during the  election. "

On March 18, Russia held presidential elections in Russia. The  president is elected for a six-year term.  According to preliminary  ballots in Yerevan, 90-92% of voters voted for Vladimir Putin. About  5,000 citizens took part in the elections in Yerevan. Russian  Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin called an unprecedented turnout  at the elections.

According to preliminary data of the CEC of Russia, according to the  results of processing 99.84% of the final protocols of precinct  election commissions (PECs), incumbent President Vladimir Putin  accumulates almost 76.66% of the vote. Putin secured a record in his  career political support for voters - for him voted 56.206 million  citizens. The candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian  Federation Pavel Grudinin is second with 11.80% of votes, in third  place the candidate from the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky with 5.66% of  the vote. The fourth place is taken by the "Civil Initiative" put  forward by Ksenia Sobchak with 1.67% of the vote. It is followed by  Grigory Yavlinsky (Yabloko) with 1.04%, Boris Titov (Growth Party)  with 0.76%, Maxim Suraykin ("Communists of Russia") with 0.68%,  Sergei Baburin (the party "Russian National Union ") with 0.65% of  the vote. For each of them, less than 1 million people gave their  votes. At the same time turnout of the electorate in the presidential  elections in Russia, which took place on March 18, was, according to  preliminary data, 67.74% or 73.36 million people.
