ArmInfo. Representatives of the EU member states and six countries of the "Eastern Partnership" have identified priorities for 2018.
The purpose of the meeting in Brussels of the representatives of the EU member states and the six countries of the Eastern Partnership - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine - is to fulfill the commitments adopted at the EaP summit in November last year and set priorities for 2018.
EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Affairs Johannes Khan said at the opening of the meeting that a new structure for the EaP was officially created today. "Now the most important thing is to give the program a new impetus and resume our joint commitment to reforms in the partner countries," Khan said, adding that the results should be visible before EU summits and " Eastern Partnership "in the autumn of this year.
According to the plan, representatives of the EU and the EaP will meet on special platforms dedicated to specific areas and reforms: economy, governance, transport, energy, environment and climate, and social issues. Not only representatives of EU authorities and program countries will take part in the negotiations, but also non-governmental organizations, companies, international financial institutions and representatives of organizations representing youth.
