Armenian Foreign Ministry employee accused of fraud related to  issuing green cards

ArmInfo. Grigor Grigorian, a leading specialist of the agency "State Protocols Service" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, initiated a criminal case on  charges of embezzlement of especially large sizes. This is reported  by the Judicial Information System.  

According to the report, in July 2017 Grigoryan met RA citizen Vahagn Davtyan, who intends to move with his family to the United States. Grigoryan assured Davtyan that  he could "arrange" a green card for him and his family for $ 30  thousand. Subsequently, Grigoryan received from Davtyan 7 million 173  thousand drams (about $ 15 thousand). However, the Foreign Ministry  official did not take any action to assist Davtyan in obtaining a  green card.

The case is currently in the court of the Center-Nork-Marash  communities. With respect to Grigoryan as a preventive measure, a  written undertaking not to leave the country was chosen. Grigoryan  continues his work in the foreign affairs department of Armenia.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry employee Grigor Grigoryan worked in the  National Security Council, the National Assembly of Armenia.
