Piotr Switalski: Liberalization of visa regime with EU is not a  right, but a privilege 

ArmInfo. Liberalization of the visa regime of Armenia with the EU is not a right, but a  privilege. The head of the EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalsky made a statement to journalists today.

According to him, signed between Armenia and the EU , the agreement  on a comprehensive and expanded partnership presupposes the existence  of conditions, the implementation of which by Armenia will allow  liberalizing the visa regime with the EU countries. He noted that  this issue depends exclusively on Armenia and from Armenian partners  are waiting for hard work. "Friendly Europe," the ambassador said,  "must hear your voice, make sure that you are interested in free  movement, that you are Europeans who share European values living  according to European standards, thinking like Europeans." "This is  what should come from you - the citizens of Armenia," the diplomat  stressed. "From the experience of Georgia, I can say that this will  require hard work, as well as faith in Europe."

The diplomat stressed at the same time that certain legal as well as  administrative issues lie on the way to liberalizing the visa regime.  "But the main thing is to continue working in this direction," the  diplomat stressed.
