ArmInfo. The Armenian Foreign Ministry reacted to the decision of the Azerbaijani Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu to stop the struggle for the post of the UNESCO Secretary General.
"All is well that ends well. For money, not everything can be bought, worse - you can disgrace yourself. We wish the same to other initiatives, "Tigran Balayan, spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, wrote in his Twitter microblog.
Earlier, it became known that Polad Bulbuloglu withdrew his candidacy from the post of Secretary General of UNESCO. "I am proud to be nominated by my country as a candidate for the post of UNESCO Secretary General. In the time remaining until the election, we conducted an intensive pre-election campaign unprecedented in terms of tightness. I am grateful to all those who helped me in this difficult work, "the Azerbaijani diplomat wrote.
Recall that applications for participation in the elections of the Director-General of UNESCO were submitted by the following countries: Azerbaijan, Egypt, China, Egypt, Guatemala, Iraq, Lebanon and France, where the headquarters of UNESCO is located. Among the candidates are six men and three women. Russia has repeatedly stated its unconditional support for the candidacy of Polad Bulbuloglu for this post. Armenia, however, declared that it was against the candidature of Bulbuloglu for this post.
ArmInfo. I guarantee that the Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Russian Federation Polad Bul-Bul oglu will not be elected secretary general of UNESCO.
