ArmInfo. At present, the process of compulsory passing of vehicle inspection in Armenia is fictitious. The Minister of Transport, Communications and IT Vahan Martirosyan admitted this from the rostrum of the country's parliament.
In order to somehow correct the situation the government has developed a bill regulating the sphere. According to him, the document establishes a specific list of technical services, which the car must pass to obtain a certificate of technical inspection. "And in order to avoid providing fictitious inquiries, as it is done now, the system will be automated, the references will be electronic, and the system will issue them only after the car has passed all the necessary technical procedures," the minister explained.
In Armenia currently there is a system of compulsory paid passage of vehicle inspection, which, however, is fictitious. Drivers, paying in the bank the amount to receive a receipt for the inspection, then do not use these services. The amount of inspection depends on the brand and year of manufacture of the car.
The minister did not pass around the issue of cars with the right-hand drive. According to Martirosyan, such cars are dangerous, since many traffic accidents are recorded with their participation (although no official statistics have been submitted to this effect so far). "In this regard, we intend to settle this issue at the legislative level, that is, to prohibit the import and exploitation of cars with right-hand drive in Armenia. However, the owners of cars with the right-hand drive will be given time to replace the location of the rudder," said the head of the Ministry of Transport.
