Armenian Defense Minister: 2017 was successful in terms of providing  the army with weapons

ArmInfo.The year 2017 was successful in terms of providing the army with weapons. Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan said this at a press conference in  Yerevan on October 2.

According to the head of the defense department, Armenia will  continue to purchase arms, both within the framework of a loan from  Russia and other programs. However, he did not go into details about  the types of purchased weapons, recalling that the sphere of weapons  is a closed topic.

At the same time, Sargsyan informed that the Ministry of Defense of  Armenia managed to save 10% of expenses on purchases due to their  streamlining. As he said, the saved means will be directed on  defense.  At the same time, he stressed that the army's suppliers  should be sure that they operate in equal competitive conditions, and  the MO should be assured of the quality of the products they  purchase.

In general, speaking about the passing year, the minister stated that  the year was busy.

According to him, the forum "Nation-Army" was held, where a number of  initiatives are presented, Including the transfer of the Monte  College Melkonyan to Dilijan. According to him, the realization of  the idea was positive result.
