Deputy Defense Minister: There is no need to apply for CSTO  assistance in connection with Azerbaijan`s accumulation of military  equipment in the direction of Nakhijevan

There is no need to appeal for help to the CSTO in connection with the accumulation of military equipment by Azerbaijan on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state  border in the direction of Nakhijevan. Armenian Deputy Defense  Minister Artak Zakaryan stated this on September 1, answering the  question whether Armenia plans to apply for CSTO assistance in  connection with the accumulation of manpower and armament on the  border with Armenia in the direction of Nakhijevan.

Answering the question about the stage at which the implementation of  the 200 million arms contract with Russia is located, Zakaryan noted  that all agreements have been signed and the supply process  continues.

At the same time, he declined to comment on whether Armenia plans to  acquire in the future Russia's newest S-350E "Vityaz" anti-aircraft  missile systems, developed with the participation of South Korea.

Almaz-Antei Concern presented the export version of the latest air  defense complex S-350 Vityaz at the forum Army-2017. They are more  compact and cheaper than the S-400, but they have all the  capabilities of the S-300 and at the same time can stand up for  themselves in close combat without additional cover by "Pantser" or  "Toram". Russian experts did not rule out that Armenia could become  one of the possible buyers of these systems
