ArmInfo.Azerbaijan initiated criminal proceedings against two German deputies from the party "Alternative for Germany" for visiting Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to Haqqin.az with the link to Schweriner Volkszeitung, this was stated by the representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Berlin, Vugar Gafarov.
According to him, currently, the embassy checks information about the visit to Nagorno Karabakh of European deputies who are also deputies of the parliament of the federal state of Thuringia. They are included in the "black list" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and they are prohibited from entering the country. "A criminal case has been opened and an investigation is under way," Gafarov.
We are talking about the deputies of European Parliament Holger Arppe and Enrique Comninge, who in February this year participated as observers in the constitutional referendum in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Such illegal visits to Karabakh do not contribute to a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Our Foreign Ministry is dealing with this fact, "Gafarov said.
