Narek Sargsyan: implementation of Old Yerevan project will begin this  fall and will last 3.5 years

ArmInfo.The implementation of Old Yerevan project will begin this fall and will last 3.5 years, during the budgetary hearings in Armenian NA stated Chairman of the  State Committee for Urban Development under the Government of Narek Sargsyan.

According to him, during the construction works Aram Manukyan's House  of the First Republic of Armenia will be saved.  Besides, according  to Sargsyan, the old house of Africans will be restored, dismantled  from Teryan street. 

Final project of Old Yerevan soon will be confirmed by State  Committee for Urban Development, Ministry of Culture and Yerevan's  Mayor's Office. 

Old Yerevan will be built at the territory between the streets of  Abovyan, Buzand, Kohbatsi and Aram. The building is planned to be   built maximum with two underground floors, three over ground and  attic (in the style of so-called townhouses). It is also planned to  assemble old buildings (XIX - early XX centuries), which were  previously dismantled for elite high-rise buildings. Bricks from them  were numbered and stored up to better times. The project, estimated  at $ 120- $ 130 million, was approved in November 2014.
