European Union thinks that status quo in Karabakh is not sustainable and the conflict needs faster political settlement, in accordance to international law, this was stated by Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy during the joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, as a result of Armenia-EU cooperation Council session.
She noted that discussed with Nalbandian peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict: "European Union continues to support totally the intermediate efforts and suggestions of OSCE MG co chairs on conflict settlement."
At the same time, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy noted, that the agenda of the meeting also included regional issues: "We discussed the situation over Syrian crisis and a number of regional issues. EU also confirmed its commitment to relations normalization support between Armenia and Turkey. We encourage the sides to start normalization process without pre conditions," Mogherini said.
