ArmInfo. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia has warned the Tsaroukyan bloc leader Gagik Tsaroukyan to abstain from pre-electoral financial and material promises to voters, CEC Head Tigran Mukuchyan said.
Particularly, commenting on Tsaroukyan's promise to Tavush residents to buy grapes for 150 AMD, to provide agricultural equipment, supply gas to households, Mukuchyan said that this was a violation of the law. "We have already warned the bloc to abstain from repeating this mistake, otherwise, the CEC will initiate relevant procedures and will take measures stipulated in the Electoral Code," he noted.
To recall, the Electoral Code does not allow the parties to grant or lend money to voters on privileged conditions, products, goods or to provide any kind of services during the election campaign. Despite that, in Armavir Tsaroukyan has started to give promises of material nature again. In particular, he promised a combine harvester to the villagers.
