According to him, the real organizers of the crimes committed on March 1 2008, will be punished after the change of power in the country.
In his turn, the Deputy of Parliament from ANC Aram Manukyan noted, "For already three years, we have declared the national day of struggle against state terror and violence on March 1st and today public pressure continues", said the Deputy, calling before the procession to the monument to Myasnikyan to applaud the families and friends of the victims. The annual procession must show that sacrifices were not in vein, and the struggle for human rights, for dignity and the establishment of democracy in the country will continue.
Then, the participants escorted by the policemen want to the Myasnikyan monument where they laid flowers.
To note, the Armenian opposition led by the first president Levon Ter-Petrossian, who ran for the February 19 presidential elections of 2008 and lost them, held on 20 February in Yerevan rallies, expressing dissatisfaction with the results of the elections. The protests culminated on March 1-2, 2008 in riots and clashes of protesters with police, as a result of which ten people were killed and over 200 were injured. In the light of this a state of emergency was declared from the 1st to 20th March in the country.
