ArmInfo. The Armenian Defense Ministry urges the military- political leadership of Azerbaijan to abstain from actions aimed at further escalation of the situation on the line of contact with Artsakh troops, Armenian Defense Ministry Spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan says on his Facebook page.
He notes that last night the adversary attempted on more attack on the forward detachments of Artsakh Defense Army, but the latter made the adversary retreat with losses. "Over the past few days the military- political leadership of Azerbaijan has been introducing tension in the situation on the frontline and disseminating false reports. After suffering losses last night, the adversary is again trying to mislead the international community and its own society by reporting that the attack was allegedly initiated by the Armenian side," he says.
Hovhannisyan also notes that the Armenian side observes the ceasefire and urges the Azeri side to abstain from actions aimed at further escalation on the line of contact. "The Azeri military-political leadership will be responsible for the escalation on the line of contact," he stresses.
To note, on Feb 25, at 3 am and 4 am, the armed forces of Azerbaijan made an attempt to attack the southeastern (Martuni) and eastern (Akna) sections of the line of contact with Artsakh troops, using relevant special equipment for demining. The press office of the Defense Army of Artsakh has told ArmInfo that due to the video surveillance devices, the forward detachments of the Defense Army of Artsakh fixed the adversary's actions in due time and made the adversary retreat. The Azeri troops retreated, suffering losses. Several bodies of the Azeri servicemen are in the neutral zone. The Armenian side suffered no losses.
At the same time, the relevant structures of the Defense Army of Artsakh report that movement of military hardware and troops was fixed in the eastern direction of the contact line. The Azeri Defense Ministry has confirmed its losses.
