ArmInfo. "After the April war in the Karabakh conflict zone, the Armenian side is making the relevant conclusions and correcting its mistakes - both our own experience and the adversary's actions are being studied," Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan says in an interview to RIA Novosti.
"But I do not think the April events have changed our idea of the balance of forces and capacities in the region, though they gave an idea of what tactics and what types of weapons Azerbaijan might choose against the people of Karabakh. We take this into account," Sargsyan says, adding that the situation on the contact line remains tense due to the regular ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan.
Sargsyan stresses that Azerbaijan regularly uses small arms, grenade launchers and mortars. "We consider that Azerbaijan should completely fulfill the arrangements reached in Vienna and St. Petersburg under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs and the President of the Russian Federation. These are the simplest confidence building measures, which would facilitate restoration of the effective dialogue to find the ways for settlement," he says.
