ArmInfo.Given that no one is going to recreate the USSR, Armenians and Azeris can keep calm and live without trying to kill each other in Karabakh, says Yevgeny  Satanovsky, Russian expert on Oriental Studies.  

"A USSR analogue comprising Armenia, Azerbaijan and certainly  Karabakh would create all necessary prerequisites for peace existence  of these entities in a single integration space with external  leadership.  However, nobody is trying to create such an analogue  today, even Russian President Vladimir Putin," the expert says.     

Satanovsky notes that Karabakh is not a part of Azerbaijan and that  after the April mini-war everybody understood that the residents of  Karabakh will not return to Azerbaijan even if Ankara provides the  strongest support to Baku.     

He says that Karabakh is an unambiguously independent entity and it  is successfully developing. In this light, one can or cannot put up  with the fact of Karabakh's existence in such a status.    

"Certainly, it is impossible to state today that everything has been  done to strengthen its status, however, Karabakh has lived  independently for decades, having a good economy and a prosperous  capital - Stepanakert. But I would not risk to visit that country via  the territory of Azerbaijan," the analyst says.   

To note, Yevgeny Satanovsky has been "blacklisted" by Baku for  visiting Nagorno-Karabakh.
