ArmInfo.European Union expects, that the positive dynamics fixed in Armenian-European relations, will remain the same in 2017, Piotr Switalski, the Head of EU Delegation in Armenia stated at a press conference in Yerevan.
At that, he expressed hope that new legal document between Armenia and EU will become a reality this year. The prospective is pretty realistic and feasible. Parties are at the culmination stage really and the solution is close. Armenian and European parties are busy with very difficult work. "I cannot voice the names of negotiations participants, but they are very close to sign the document," European diplomat mentioned. He added that his will become an essential event for 2017. Negotiations will be brought to a final version and completed. We expect that the relations capsulated in 2016, will remain as they are in 2017, which will increase the level of our cooperation, the diplomat mentioned.
At the same time he added that in upcoming months EU will work in five priority aspects. Particularly, that will be the elections process, and EU has rendered pretty serious tools for that, hence the parliamentary elections will be in the focus of EU attention. The next is that we want to continue our efforts in respect to the business environment in Armenia, and the third is the cooperation in the aspect of anti corruption struggle, Switalski mentioned.
Switalski referred also to the interaction of Armenia and EU and noted that 2016 showed good results, particularly in respect to approval of three bilateral projects, with total cost of EUR 9 mln.
