ArmInfo. The geopolitical competition of Iran and Israel does not disturb the Tehran-Yerevan relations, Director of Noravank Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan has told ArmInfo.
"It is the bilateral agenda that will play the predetermining role and significance in the content and schedule of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's tomorrow visit to Armenia. I can say that this visit is of strategic nature and it has big prospects for promotion of the relations and cooperation between our countries. Of course, politics is politics and Hassan Rouhani and Benjamin Netanyahu are experienced diplomats. In this light, there some parallels could be drawn between the former's visit to Yerevan and the latter's visit to Baku," the politician says.
On 21 December, at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani will pay an official visit to Armenia. He will meet with the President and Prime Minister of Armenia. Following the high-level talks, a number of documents aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation will be signed. An Armenian-Iranian business forum will also be held.
Harutyunyan says that the Iranian President's visit to Yerevan will contribute to implementation of the joint strategic plans of the two countries' leadership, as well as to signing of new contracts and agreements on development of Armenian-Iranian partnership in power engineering, communications and other areas of mutual interest.
He notes that today the countries having a strong scientific and technical potential are at an advantage and we should always remember it and make the relevant conclusions and steps.
