ArmInfo. So called ''partnership'' of Brussels with the countries of the South Caucasus, which is backed by Washington, will further remain ''a one -way street'', Russian political scientist Andrey Areshev expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
''In spite of crisis of the European Union's integration model, which has direct impact on its current relations with the partners including in the post-soviet space, Brussels aims to maintain and increase its influence on the Caucasus by implementing local projects and so called ''local reform programs'', he noted.
In his assessment Russia's foreign policy regarding the countries of the South Caucasus considers at most the opinions of all the regional and global players. At the same time the European structures in their intention for political and economical expansion in the post soviet space will have to cooperate with Russia as well as with China and Iran more intensively with time.
Areshev considers that Yerevan and Baku's, as well as Tbilisi's unreasonably high expectations from Europe are gradually leveling out. In this light if the European Union and its key players continue their confrontational anti-Russian line it will have negative impact on their positions in the Caucasus region.
