ArmInfo. The method, using which the Republican Party candidate Mamikon Aslanyan won in Vanadzor, seriously damaged political system of the country, Solidarity party informs in its statement.
Particularly, the Party considers that logic of elections in Vanadzor contradicts to norms of political culture. According to the members of the Party it is obvious that pressure was exerted on the oppositionist members of Elders' Council in Vanadzor, as a result of which collusion was reached. "System reforms announced by the authorities and motivated by adoption of new Constitution have faded away. Obviously, under beautiful formulations the authorities attempt to retain power and centralize all the resources in the hands of the RPA. In such conditions the only goal of political forces and members of the civil society should be consolidation, which will allow winning upcoming parliamentary elections and eradicating political monopoly, the statement reads.
"Solidarity" also informs that the Party has appealed against the decision of electoral commission N34/4 in Gyumri, which refused to conduct re voting on the polling station.
To note, oppositionist forces in Vanadzor and Gyumri decided to boycott sessions of the Elders' Councils. In Vanadzor Bright Armenia came up with the initiative, Prosperous Armenia has joined it, while Armenian Rebirth, which is accused in betraying the opposition during the Vanadzor mayor elections, has not reacted to this decision yet.
