ArmInfo. Representative of Prosperous Armenia Party faction Vahe Enfiajyan states that the members of Elders' Council in Vanadzor from Prosperous Armenia Party have voted for Krist Marukyan, candidate from Bright Armenia party.
Moreover, in a talk to ArmInfo's correspondent he stated that the party can present evidences. Answering to the question what kind of evidences he means Enfiajyan stated that the representative of "Bright Armenia" saw how the PAP members voted. At the same time the politician noted that Bright Armenia should also discuss certain issues within the party. "Voting turned into bartering- some persons have sold Vanadzor people's trust and hope", he stressed assuring that the PAP has kept its promise.
The politician also thinks that measures had to be taken to exclude necessity to prove who has voted for whom. Particularly, according to him the voters should have been allowed to keep their cell phones during voting or a special method of marking ballot papers should have been proposed. "Interestingly, the electoral commission has set iron clad rules this time, while in some other cases ingenious methods of control are used", he noted.
To note, despite the fact that the oppositionist forces had united, candidate from ruling Republican Party Mamikon Aslanyan won mayor elections in Vanadzor gaining 19 votes. Earlier Bright Armenia, Prosperous Armenia and Armenian Rebirth signed a memorandum on cooperation in Vanadzor. According to the document, at the first sitting of the Elders' Council, the specified parties were to support the candidacy of Bright Armenia representative Krist Marukyan. To note, according to the official data of the Central Electoral Commission, Bright Armenia has 10 mandates, Prosperous Armenia - 3 mandates, Armenian Rebirth - 5. In case the coalition worked, RPA would have to be in the minority.
