NKR Defense Army: Azerbaijan deliberately escalates situation on frontline

ArmInfo. NKR Defense Army  has disseminated a statement over the recent escalation of the  situation on the Line of Contact of the Karabakh and Azerbaijani  troops. 

"The recent processes along the Line of Contact of the  Karabakh-Azerbaijani troops create an impression that the adversary  has shifted to the tactics of gradual and deliberate escalation of  the situation on the frontline. Azerbaijani forces have increased the  frequency of the ceasefire violations and started using a bigger  variety of weapons. It is noteworthy that the Azerbaijani side  initiated large-scale armed clashes in April and then asked a third  party to stop the military actions, restore the trilateral ceasefire  agreement of 1994, for the fear of suffering defeat. Afterwards, Baku  resumed its provocations both on the Line of Contact and in the  information field," the NKR Defense Army says in the statement  provided to ArmInfo.

The NKR Defense Army recalls that the enemy has been intensively  shelling the Karabakh positions during the recent days using small  arms of various calibers, including heavy machine guns, sniper rifles  Black Arrow and Istiqlal, AGS-17 grenade launchers. 

"Today, the Azerbaijani side disseminated reports that the Armenian  side allegedly targeted the Azerbaijani positions with 60mm mortars.  NKR Defense Army bindingly declares that Azerbaijan disseminates  misreports to destabilize the situation," the NKR Defense Army says  in the statement.
